Description About the Role Rodan + Fields is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Copy to lead the development of compelling, strategically driven creative across all brand and marketing initiatives. In this role, you will craft engaging narratives and impactful campaign concepts that resonate across 360 full-funnel marketing channels, including paid media, social, digital, email, site, print, in-store, and experiential.
As a key creative leader, you will partner closely with the Creative Director, internal Design-focused ACDs, and a creative agency, working cross-functionally with brand, social, retail, and DTC marketing teams to shape cohesive, impactful brand storytelling. You will play a pivotal role in defining and evolving Rodan + Fields brand voice, ensuring all content aligns with our identity, values, and strategic objectives.
An exceptional storyteller and copywriter, you bring a fresh, authentic, and engaging approach to messagingwhether through monthly campaigns, social content, education materials, or in-store messaging. Beyond high-level campaign work, youll refine and optimize product copy, ensuring Rodan + Fields top products stand out with clarity and distinction. Youll also bring new ways of thinking to the brand, driving differentiation, innovation, and deeper consumer engagement.
Key Responsibilities Creative Leadership & Concept Development - Serve as the internal creative lead for 360 campaign development, driving strategy and editorial concept through execution while collaborating with agencies to ensure alignment across all brand and marketing touchpoints.
- Develop compelling narratives and content strategies that translate customer insights into engaging brand storytelling.
- Define and evolve the Rodan + Fields brand voice, ensuring consistency across all channels and materials.
- Develop big campaign ideas across paid media, organic social, digital, retail, and email, ensuring work is innovative and strategically grounded.
- Collaborate with the ACD, Design & Art Direction to develop visually and verbally cohesive brand storytelling.
- Roll up your sleeves and lead by example, contributing hands-on writing and creative thinking while inspiring the team.
- Oversee script development for education videos, ensuring content aligns with the brand voice and effectively communicates key messaging.
- Ensure messaging for retail displays aligns with brand voice and strategy, maintaining consistency across in-store touchpoints.
Copywriting & Content Creation - Craft high-quality, compelling writing across a wide range of brand and product experiences, including CRM, paid media, social, digital, and retail.
- Develop tailored messaging for different audience segments, ensuring content resonates with various consumer demographics.
- Write clear, engaging, and strategic copy for retail displays, packaging, and in-store materials.
- Maintain impeccable attention to detail and adaptability to different writing styles and tonal nuances based on platform and audience.
Collaboration & Execution - Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure creative cohesion at every touchpoint.
- Lead and manage external agency partners, ensuring that work aligns with Rodan + Fields creative vision and brand standards.
- Drive efficiency in creative processes, identifying ways to streamline workflows while maintaining high-quality output.
- Ensure all work aligns with brand identity, messaging strategy, and business objectives.
- Mentor and develop mid-level creatives, providing clear feedback and guidance.
Strategic & Trend Awareness - Stay ahead of industry trends, cultural movements, and competitive shifts, bringing insights into creative strategy.
- Ensure all creative work reflects innovation and relevance within the beauty and skincare space.
- Provide a strategic POV on how content should evolve across new and emerging platforms.
- Arm the Product Innovation team with competitive research and search trend data to inform strategic naming decisions.
Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in advertising, branding, or marketing, with at least 4-5 years in a management role.
- Bachelors degree in Creative Writing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing conceptual campaign work, brand storytelling, and execution across multiple channels (TV/video, social, digital, experiential, and print).
- Deep understanding of brand voice, tone, and style, with the ability to craft messaging that connects with diverse audiences.
- Experience writing for CRM, digital marketing, and audience segmentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire teams and clearly articulate creative vision.
- Highly organized, with excellent project management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
