Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The qualified candidate will have experience with Virginia family law. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in litigation and have a passion for providing exceptional legal services. The Associate Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys to handle simple and complex family law cases. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting legal pleadings and correspondence, assisting Senior attorneys with discovery, handling simple hearings and motions, conducting legal research, meeting with client and second-chairing complex family law trials under the mentorship and guidance of experienced litigators.
Duties:
- Must be licensed or waiting for bar results in Virginia
- Conduct legal research and analysis to inform case strategy and prepare legal documents
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Litigate cases in court, including trial and appeals
- Manage and maintain accurate case records and files
- Utilize Lexis-Nexis and other legal databases to stay current with changing laws and regulations
- Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and other team members to achieve case goals
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Tribal law regulations and their application in legal cases
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and court orders
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and respond promptly to their inquiries
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience practicing law in a law office
- Strong background in family law.
- Litigation expereince is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal drafting and administrative tasks
- Ability to conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions
- Strong commitment to delivering exceptional legal services to clients
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
