Surf N Salsa is a family restaurant located in Haleiwa, Hawaii. We’re all about delivering great customer experiences with a Hawaiian vibe. We’re looking for a friendly, dependable Cashier/Runner to join our team and help keep operations smooth from front-of-house to the floor.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Cashier/Runner to support daily sales, handle transactions, assist customers, and help maintain a clean, organized store environment. This role requires physical stamina (picking up to 50 pounds), reliable cash handling, and the ability to work with a POS system. You’ll be on the move, helping with stocking, order fulfillment, and guest service as needed.
Responsibilities
Process cash, credit, and mobile payments accurately at the register
carry items as needed to support store operations (up to 50 lbs)
Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked; assist with shelf presentation
Operate the POS system, assist customers with purchases, returns, and exchanges
Assist in bagging, packaging, food/beverage to deliver to customers
Maintain excellent customer service, answer questions, and resolve issues promptly
Aid in order picking and package preparation for both in-store and online pick up orders
Notify the team lead of any stock shortages or customer needs
Follow safety, health, and cleanliness standards and guidelines
Qualifications
Required
Prior experience with a POS system or cash handling is a plus
Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Strong customer service and communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends
Basic math skills and attention to detail
Preferred
Prior experience in retail, cafe, or fast-paced service environment
Bilingual (English/another language) a plus
