Location: West Hollywood Studio (In-Person Only)

Job Overview

The Design Manager plays a vital role in our event design and production team, working collaboratively to create and implement original design concepts for weddings, social events, corporate experiences, and special projects. This position blends creative vision with logistical execution, ensuring every design detail contributes to meaningful, beautiful, and seamless events.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director and Event Producers to conceptualize and develop bespoke design concepts across a range of events
  • Partner with the Event Producers to align design execution with timelines and production schedules

Budgeting

  • Develop and manage budgets for all design elements (custom builds, florals, printed materials, rentals, installations) with a focus on both creativity and cost efficiency

Vendor Management

  • Source, manage, and direct design-focused vendors including florals, lighting, textiles, rentals, custom fabrication, stationery, and styling elements
  • Oversee all custom orders from production through on-site execution, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Brief fabrication partners, obtain competitive bids, and manage full production process with design integrity

On-Site Execution

  • Lead and direct design vendors and teams during event setup to ensure vision alignment and seamless execution

Logistics & Inventory

  • Track all design orders and inventory from concept through delivery; maintain organized, updated design asset systems

Art Direction

  • Guide the creation of renderings and visual communication tools to clearly convey design to clients, vendors, and internal team
  • Create or direct development of floor plans, elevations, and other design documents to support execution

Creative Problem Solving & Ownership

  • Anticipate challenges and maintain a solution-oriented mindset throughout the design process
  • Own all design elements from conception through delivery, ensuring excellence and consistency in execution
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in event design or production design (luxury weddings or hospitality experience a plus)
  • Strong vendor management skills across florals, stationery, rentals, lighting, and more
  • Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities
  • Experience with CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools is a plus
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator with a proactive, team-first mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment with multiple concurrent projects
