**Job Title: Firewatch/Helper** **Job Description** The Firewatch/Helper plays a crucial role in supporting all functional areas of LCAC refurbishment efforts. This position involves picking, handling, and organizing materials and tools, assisting ship fitters, mechanics, electricians, and welders, and maintaining cleanliness in work and office areas. **Responsibilities** + Pick, handle, and organize materials and tools. + Assist ship fitters, mechanics, electricians, and welders. + Maintain cleanliness in work and office areas. + Stand by and observe welders to ensure safe operations and prevent fires. **Essential Skills** + Good attention to detail for monitoring welding activities. + General mechanical aptitude. + Ability to maintain focus throughout the entire shift. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Mechanical, construction, and labor experience. + Experience with hand tools, drills, and carpentry. **Work Environment** The work is conducted at a repair facility environment at ACU-5 Camp Pendleton. LCACs are housed in large hangars or on the tarmac. The role involves working both indoors and outdoors, requiring comfort in hot and cold weather. Employees must wear steel-toe shoes, and safety hats, glasses, and gloves are provided at the job site. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camp Pendleton, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
