At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Manager to join our highly successful traffic group in Richmond or Fairfax, VA. As a Traffic Project Manager with RK&K you will support public and private agencies on traffic analysis and engineering programs throughout our portfolio. Essential Function Perform a variety of tasks, including transportation planning studies, traffic operations analysis, traffic engineering design plans and preliminary engineering design Support projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environments Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtually Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) Utilize traffic analysis/simulation tools to perform traffic modeling and simulations Prepare technical reports and presentations Required Skills and Experience Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in traffic engineering Exceptional writing, verbal communication and presentation skills including public speaking Experience with Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual and AASHTO guidelines Travel Forecasting experience Advanced experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) Preferred Skills and Experience Traffic control device design experience using MUTCD MSCE or MEngCE Other Duties This job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
