The position requires strong contract review and negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to interpret laws and judicial decisions in a business context. The attorney will work closely with internal departments, external clients, vendors, and outside counsel, and must consistently demonstrate sound judgment and a commitment to the highest ethical standards. Job Responsibilities: Advise on a broad range of legal matters, including commercial contracts, regulatory issues, and corporate governance Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts and agreements (e.g., service agreements with customers and vendors, licensing, confidentiality, alliance, distributor agreements, letters of intent and memorandums of understanding) Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions that support business objectives while protecting the company’s interests Support corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and financings, as needed Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Procurement, Compliance, HR, and Finance Liaise with external counsel and manage legal costs effectively Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure compliance across the organization Prepare and deliver presentations and training to internal teams on legal and compliance matters Maintain proper documentation and adhere to internal policies and best practices Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 3 years plus of legal experience in energy industry commercial contracting is required Experience in the field of government contracting requirements is a plus Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Why Halliburton?
