VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for our Devens, MA location.

Job Purpose

As a Manufacturing Engineerat VulcanForms Inc., your main objective will be to provide technical leadership for the commissioning and Qualification of the 3D Laser printers. This work includes providing documentation and floor support for operations, machine build and engineering. This role will be focused on all aspects of manufacturing operations and qualifying equipment for production use. Additional key purposes of this role include identifying operational opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness and cross functional collaboration to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Mechanical, Controls, Process Monitoring and Machine Build teams to coordinate work
\n
• Complete Installation Qualification protocols and write reports for the latest generation of printers
\n
• Identify areas of improvement of the IQ protocols and implement impactful procedural updates to increase impact and efficiency.
\n
• Streamline IQ process to ensure process is optimized to bring printers on-line in a timely manner.
\n
• Learn to generate toolpaths and run prints independently.
\n
• Develop understanding of printer and protocol processes to develop a decision matrix for what to do when a protocol fails.
\n
• Develop and execute machine OQ and PQ activities independently.
\n
• Write and maintain procedures & checklists for repeatable startup of machines.
\n
• Utilize lean manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity.
\n
• Project management of machine qualification aspect of machine builds
\n
• Use data-driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support business goals & objectives.
\n
• Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns and adhere to the safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

\n
• 1+ year of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
\n
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
\n
• Proven ability to develop and implement qualified processes using applicable systems (process failure mode and effect analysis, fault tree analysis, process validation, process planning tools, design of experiments)
\n
• Knowledge of Industrial Automation tools like, but not limited to, PLCs, drives, motors, IO modules etc
\n
• Experience with vision systems within an automation process
\n
• Knowledge of PC based data systems and laser printer systems
\n
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Systems, and SPC tools
\n

• Experience in Metal Additive Manufacturing
\n
• Experience qualifying equipment for medical manufacturing
\n

VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match. The annual base salary range for this position is $76,640.00-$105,380.
