Materials Manager | Wyoming, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure production continuity and minimize holding costs.
• Develop and implement material planning strategies using MRP/ERP systems.
• Oversee the procurement process for raw materials and components, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and negotiating terms.
• Lead and mentor the materials team, fostering a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with production, sales, and engineering to develop accurate material forecasts and production schedules.
• Implement and monitor material handling, storage, and distribution procedures within the manufacturing facility.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced inventory management techniques.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain optimization strategies.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent negotiation and and communication skills.
• APICS certification (CSCP or CPIM) is highly desirable.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
• Proficiency with advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Experience with international sourcing and logistics strategies
