As the backbone of administrative functions, a yard clerk ensures that day-to-day operations run efficiently and effectively. Individuals in this position must exhibit a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Manage and prepare switching orders for warehouse and yard work.
Maintain details of order such as number of trailers for relocation and appropriate disposition.
Monitor and maintain an inventory for yard on an everyday basis.
Coordinate with various personnel and evaluate the appropriate location of all cars.
Assist yard manager and prepare all reports for proceeding.
Prepare reports and receive all switching details from the yard manager.
Coordinate with switching crews and monitor all requests.
