Principal Data Scientist - Generative AI, Machine Learning, Python, R - Remote Lensa, a leading career site, is seeking a Principal Data Scientist for its client, Molina Healthcare. The role involves overseeing data science projects, leading a team, and aligning initiatives with business goals. The ideal candidate will develop data models, collaborate across teams, and pioneer generative AI healthcare solutions to transform healthcare operations and improve member experience. Responsibilities Research and stay updated on AI advancements; apply insights to improve models and develop new methodologies. Deploy, monitor, and govern AI models in production, ensuring compliance with regulations. Lead pilot projects for new AI technologies. Extract insights from data to inform strategic decisions. Design and train machine learning models using various algorithms. Implement agentic workflows for autonomous AI operations. Utilize RAG patterns to enhance language model performance. Fine-tune pre-trained models for specific tasks. Prepare data through cleaning and preprocessing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions. Create documentation and communicate findings effectively. Mentor junior data scientists and partner with business teams to meet objectives. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field. 10+ years of experience, preferably in healthcare. Knowledge of big data tech, relational databases, and SDLC. Proficiency in Python, R, and machine learning frameworks. Strong statistical and analytical skills. Experience with agentic workflows, RAG techniques, and model fine-tuning. Data visualization and database management skills. Preferred PhD or additional experience.
