Principal Geotechnical Engineer (GE) Principal Geotechnical Engineer (GE)
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead our geotechnical engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing foundation design, engineering geology, and environmental engineering aspects of projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a deep understanding of geotechnical principles and the ability to manage complex projects and teams.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct site investigations and analyze soil and rock samples for geotechnical properties.
- Design foundations and earthworks in accordance with project requirements and standards.
- Perform slope stability analyses and groundwater assessments to inform design decisions.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into overall project plans.
- Conduct risk assessments related to geotechnical issues and propose mitigation strategies.
- Mentor and train junior engineers in geotechnical practices and principles.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on foundation design and environmental engineering.
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, geotechnical analysis, and site investigation techniques.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Project for project design and management.
- Familiarity with risk assessment processes and technical reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage client relationships.
