Our client is a commercial roofing contractor with over 20 years of experience specializing in federal, military, and public-sector projects. Our work spans military bases, correctional institutions, schools, hospitals, and more. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality roofing systems with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and client satisfaction.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Roofing Estimator with strong experience in commercial and public-sector projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing project plans, preparing cost estimates, and supporting the bid process for roofing projects ranging from small-scale renovations to multi-million dollar federal contracts.
Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates
• Conduct material take-offs and labor calculations for various roofing systems (SBS, TPO, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, Metal, etc.)
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers for pricing and availability
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and the contracts department during pre-construction planning
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary
• Prepare and submit complete bid packages in compliance with client requirements
• Maintain historical cost databases and update pricing for accuracy

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing estimating required
• Knowledge of public-sector, government, and federal contract requirements preferred
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Edge, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and construction methods
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
• High attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with federal contracts (e.g., Army Corps of Engineers, VA, GSA, DOD)
• Familiarity with Procore or other construction management software
• OSHA 10/30 Certification
