Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Counseling position is available for the current school year on a contract basis in Alexandria, VA. This role is designed for licensed counselors seeking a caseload aligned with their preferences, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Active professional counseling license required
• Experience in school or educational counseling preferred
• Ability to manage caseload based on individual capacity and preference
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting student mental health and wellbeing

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling services to students
• Assess and address students academic, emotional, and social needs
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives
