Could you be a good fit? We are looking for the best, highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join the team of our exceptional client located in Portland, ME for a contract opportunity. This is a mostly onsite position with a client who is a global leader in their field.

What will your day look like? As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will:

• Design embedded software that controls operations of electromechanical subsystems in internal company products, providing user interfaces, managing test results, and enabling connectivity with other related systems.
• Design, develop, implement, and test algorithms to enable required functions to be performed, considering system constraints, mechanical limitation, workflow requirements, and other variables.
• Design and implement web front end solutions using HTML, JavaScript / Typescript, CSS, WebSockets, etc.
• Coordinate with development project teams from design through to prototype development and production release.
• Build applications that allow user control and operation of the machines. Implement, specify, and test modifications to existing software while participating in the development of new product features, requirements, and design.

You will be a good fit for the Embedded Software Engineer role if you have:

• 4 plus years of related software development experience
• Strong front end experience, especially in HTML, CSS, JavaScript or Typescript, and/or WebSockets
• Experience implementing and designing software components with Linux embedded systems which then interface with web front end solutions. Specific desired technologies include Python, Bash shell scripting, C++, Linux, and Golang
• A self-starter mentality with strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to communicate a complex array of issues to various stakeholders
• The ability to work onsite in Portland ME
