Job Description

TRC is searching for a General Assembly Repair Manager to work with our client in Automotive Manufacturing in Savannah, Georgia!


This role oversees team performance, safety, quality, and efficiency while driving process improvements to meet production and KPI targets. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing staff, resources, and compliance requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee daily operations of the general assembly repair department, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct all departmental activities while collaborating with executive leadership and other department heads.
  • Monitor performance in safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and productivity; develop continuous improvement plans to meet KPI targets.
  • Develop and manage department budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Lead personnel management including hiring, training, scheduling, work assignments, performance evaluations, and succession planning.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, procedures, and objectives in alignment with organizational strategies.
  • Motivate employees, resolve issues or grievances, and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and teamwork.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to repair methods, production processes, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Support the organization’s strategic plan by aligning individual and departmental goals with long-term objectives.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, advanced degree desired.
  • (Other) No reason for disqualification for overseas travel or stay.
  • Over 15 years job related experience in automotive manufacturing, with a focus on operations management.
  • MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint
  • Experience in General Assembly division.
  • Experience or knowledge of the new plant construction process.
  • MBA or equivalent preferred
  • Domestic / International travel required
